Appeals

Parents may appeal the discipline consequences that are given to their children by district administrators. The director of the department conducts these hearings and determines whether or not the consequences handed out by administrators are appropriate. If they are, the discipline is upheld. If they are not, the consequence may be overruled or modified.

Parents may also call about other issues related to their children. If they are not satisfied with the consequences that have been given to their children, they have a right to a hearing that is conducted by the Director of Pupil Services. As is the case with suspension appeals, the Director makes a determination as to the appropriateness of the consequence and he renders a decision about it accordingly.
