Dear Parents, Students, Alumni and Friends,
The 2011-2012 school year will be another exciting year for the Garfield Heights Bulldog Athletic Family. Last year was highlighted by 32 ofour student athletes being selected all league in their respective sports. The fall season was highlighted by senior golfer Steve Shavel being named All-NOC for the fourth year in a row. The winter season was highlighted by the Boys’ Basketball Team’s march tothe State Final Four in Columbus. Senior Trey Lewis was named NOC Player of the Year and Co-Player of the Year in Ohio along with numerous other honors. Head Coach Sonny Johnson was named NOC Coach of the Year and Greater Cleveland Coach of the Year. Also, junior diver Stephen Schillero qualified for his third straight StateTournament and finished in the top ten in Ohio. Kegler Steve Shavel was also named NOC Bowler of the Year.
These and many other accomplishments and improvements can be attributed to our outstanding Coaching Staffs, the Garfield Heights Booster Club,the school system's administration and staff, the maintenance and custodial staff, the great support we receive from our Board ofEducation and most importantly, you, the fans and supporters of Garfield Heights Athletics.
We invite each and every one of you to participate in our sports program. This includes attending our athletic contests, supporting our fundraisers, joining our Booster Club and most importantly being a loyal Bulldog Sports Fan who stands behind our kids and coaches no matter what the outcome of each game.
As always, remember: SUCCESS IS AN ATTITUDE!!!
