Garfield Heights City Schools is proud to recognize Mike Barry, Jr., as the first student in the “Student Spotlight” section of the website. Mike was nominated by Mr. Olszewski for his leadership at a recent CVCC Superintendent and Board event. Mike is a senior at Garfield Heights High School, where he is on the honor roll. He attends CVCC in the Construction Trades Program. Mike works part-time as a laborer for Carmen & Sons Concrete as part of CVCC’s Internship Program, as well as a part-time job with Blue Line Classics. While at GHHS, Mike played baseball for 2 years, then continued to play summer league baseball with the City of Garfield Heights. Upon graduation, Mike plans to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering and Business at Cleveland State University, where he will be the first in his family to attend college. When describing Mike, his guidance counselor, Mrs. Marksberry said “Mike is an extremely nice young man.” Congratulations, Mike, on a job well-done!
