District Launches New Online Returning Student Registration

Beginning on Monday, October 20th, parents will be able to go online to update the information that schools have about their students through InfoSnap, the district’s Online Registration Program. Parents who have moved or changed their phone numbers, for example, will be able to notify the school about the changes from the comfort of their homes or from any computer in the world that has internet access.

This procedure is a part of the Returning Student Registration package that replaces the paper forms that we used to send to parents every year. It is accessed through our website’s home address, http://www.garfieldheightscityschools.com/. On the right-hand side of the page under Quick Links you will see, next to the second bullet, the “New-Returning Students“ link. The first link is for new students. The second link is for returning students.

Parents will be receiving letters from their schools that will give them temporary passwords that are called Snap Codes. The Snap Codes are printed on the letters. Each child will have her or his own Snap Code. When parents go online and sign in, InfoSnap will ask them to make their own passwords by setting up an InfoSnap account. No one except a parent will know what password a parent chooses.

The Returning Student Information section will be available on Monday, October 20th at 9:00 am. Parents who go to the InfoSnap website/portal before then will see a message stating that the Returning Student Information section is not yet available.

Some parents have already filled out (on paper) changes to the information of their students. Those parents will not need to use InfoSnap, although they may want to go online just to see how easy the process is and to see if anything else needs changes.

Since we are trying to be as paperless as we can, we will be using InfoSnap from now on for new student registration and for returning student information.
