High School Students Celebrate Homecoming Week With Annual Motorcade

Students from Garfield Heights High School showed their 'Bulldog' pride with a Homecoming Motorcade on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.  The annual event included a caravan of over fourteen cars decorated with balloons and signs.  The motorcade also featured members of the Homecoming Court, including Homecoming Queen, Senior Cassie Schillero, and Homecoming King, Senior Shamico Samidan.  The Homecoming Motorcade kicked off at 6:00 p.m., proceeding from the Middle School to the High School parking lot.  At the conclusion of the event, students, staff members and parents attended a special Parents Night Program at the High School.  The program recognized the parents of students who participate in fall sports, including JV and Varsity cheerleading, football and soccer.  The evening concluded with an informal introduction of the 2013 Homecoming Court and the opportunity to cheer on the Senior and Junior girls as the faced off in the Powder Puff football game.  Homecoming festivities continue this week for Garfield Heights High School with an important football game against Brush High School on Friday, October 4th, at 7:00 p.m., and concluding with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 5th, from 7:00-10:00 p.m.
