Garfield Heights City Schools Featured on the Stand Up for Public Schools Website for Food Drive

Garfield Heights City Schools made deliveries to three community food pantries, donating more than 4,000 canned or non-perishable food items to help those in need this past holiday season. Each of the district's five buildings and employees at the bus garage collected items for distribution. Students and staff were encouraged to help, and each building had adult leaders spearhead the efforts. This initiative earned the district mention on the Stand Up for Public Schools website. This week, Maple Leaf Elementary School is participating in another drive - this one for canned soups. Please support the staff and students as they try to make a difference in our community by donating canned soups to the school. The soups will be taken to the food bank at the Rock Community Church.
