Garfield Heights Students Perform for Senior Citizens

In what has become a highly anticipated yearly tradition, students from Garfield Heights Middle School and High School gave wonderful holiday performances at the senior center earlier this week. Opening with the 6th grade choir, under the leadership of Ms. Reiko Carey, students performed a blend of traditional holiday numbers along with a few contemporary tunes. Nearly thirty students in this group opened the morning’s festivities for the senior citizens. To follow, Mr. Steve Pernod brought his High School Choir to perform for the seniors, sharing the vocal talents of his students with various Christmas songs. In total, nearly seventy senior citizens attended the performance, which traditionally falls on the day of the seniors’ annual Christmas Party. Residents, along with students, were festively dressed, and took time to interact with each other upon the conclusion of the performance. Thank you Mr. Pernod, Ms. Carey and the students for excellent performances for our community.
