When schools must evacuate to other sites, they are in the capable hands of school staff and law enforcement officials. In order to help us to maintain the safety of your children, we are asking that parents remember that during evacuations, real or practiced, school is still in session. Children will be returned to their home schools as soon as possible in order to prepare them for lunch, returning to class, or dismissal, depending upon what time of day it is.
Parents should not go to schools to pick up their children when they are at evacuation sites because this interferes with the safety of students and staff. If parents are to pick up their children at alternate sites, the district will send out a community message about that and about how and where the pick-up should take place.
