Alumni Update: Kelly Meyer, Class of 2004
Kelly Meyer (Ruszkiewicz) is a Garfield Heights High School graduate of the Class of 2004. Kelly is now a News Producer at Fox 8. She is the producer of the 4am newscast and also produces the "Plugged In" segment. Kelly started working for Fox 8 in 2011, but left in 2013 to attend graduate school full time. After getting her Master's Degree in Communication from the University of Akron in 2015, she started teaching for the Journalism Digital Media program at her alma mater, Ashland University, from which she is a 2008 graduate. She was then asked to come back to Fox 8 when the 4am newscast started and has been back at Fox 8 since November of 2015. Obviously, she is always on the go, working overnights to produce the morning show and then teaching a few days during the week - her two passions, producing & teaching!
