New Teacher Orientation for Garfield Heights City Schools Takes Place

On Thursday, August 10, 2017, new teachers to the Garfield Heights City Schools for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year attended their very first official day on the job. Gathering in the high school media center, new teachers and members of the support team were greeted with an impassioned speech by district superintendent Terry Olszewski. Mr. Olszewski shared how staff members of the GHCS are a family and that they have a true opportunity to teach and mentor students. Other administrators reviewed a breakdown of important items that new teachers will need to know. Finally, Mr. Michael Douglas, an alumnus of the GHCS, also made a presentation regarding diversity training in the district. Breakfast was served, lunch was served, and an overall very welcoming environment was created. The Garfield Heights City Schools welcomes these newcomers to the district and hopes to share with them a bit of extra-special Bulldog Pride!
