RE: PSAT Test
Eleventh grade and Honors English III students were recently given the opportunity to register for the PSAT test in their English classes. For many students, the PSAT Test is the first step on the road to college. By taking this test, students can practice for the SAT; enter scholarship competitions; tell colleges to send them information about programs, activities and financial aid; and find out if they have the reading and math skills necessary for success in college.
The Test will be administered on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 1st period through 4th period. Juniors should report directly to the Auxiliary Gym and sophomores to the Wrestling room PROMPTLY at 7:30 a.m. Students who normally have lunch 4th period and A.M. CVCC students will eat 5th period and then follow the remainder of their schedule.
The regular registration deadline for the PSAT test is Monday, October 5, 2017. If you would like to take the test, please return the tear sheet at the bottom of this letter to Ms. Stemberger/Ms. Washko in the Guidance Office along with $16.00 (checks made payable to the Garfield Hts. Board of Education) no later than October 5th.
Please be advised that this test is a course requirement for all Honors & College English 11 students.
In trying to provide our students with an experience that closely mimics the actual ACT or SAT testing, please be advised of the following:
- The deadline to register at $16 is Thursday, October 5th. Late registrations will be accepted Friday and Monday, October 6th and 9th, but there will be a $5 late fee (making the fee $21).
- This is a national test, so there is NO MAKE-UP date and the fee is non-refundable if you miss the test.
- Testing will begin PROMPTLY at 7:30 a.m. There will be no late admittance after 7:45 a.m.
