Garfield Heights Alumni Jasmine Rogers to Give Back to the Community

2014 Garfield Heights High School Graduate, Jasmine Rogers will return to Garfield Heights during the off season to start the Garfield Heights Girl's Basketball Club - a program that will help young female athletes develop their basketball skills under qualified trainers who are carefully selected and committed to positive development of student athletes.

The Club will welcome both young female athletes living in Garfield Heights and non-residents and will offer affordable rates.

Rogers currently attends John Carroll University, receiving well deserved full scholarships and grants and is currently a Freshman Varsity Member of their Nationally Ranked NCAA 2015 Women's College Basketball Team. Despite recruiting efforts by many colleges on different levels, Rogers selected the Blue Streaks due to their academic standards as well as the excellent basketball program that would offer her a great learning experience under top-level coaching. Rogers currently majors in Biology and plans to enter the medical field in coming years.

A sponsorship fund will also be established for the Club that will help the costs for low-income families with young athletes who wish to build their skills through these sessions and is expected to sponsor students each year on pay-to-play high school and middle school teams in Garfield Heights.
