The regular meeting of the Board of Education for the month of April 2015 was a highlight of the accomplishments of many individuals. Recognized at the board meeting were the students of Music Express for earning the title of Grand Champion and the students of the Academic Challenge team who have experienced a great amount of success. Additionally, April marked the annual “Roses for Teachers” event, where the Academic Top Ten of the Garfield Heights City Schools announced the teachers who had helped them the most over their academic journeys. The April board meeting also recognized several board members for their longevity of service by the Ohio School Boards Council representative, and presented them with a plaque for their service. And finally, the April Board meeting was capped by a tribute to outgoing superintendent Joan Chamberlin who is retiring at 27 years of service to the Garfield Heights City Schools. Thank you to the nearly 150 people who attended this event.
