Area high school students interested in becoming certified firefighters now have a unique opportunity to receive that certification through CVCC. CVCC has partnered with the University of Akron and the Broadview Heights Fire Department to offer a full certification course through CVCC.

Previously, students earned some of their credits toward a firefighting certification, but could not earn all of it through CVCC due to several courses that the school was not able to provide. With this partnership, students can now take the Firefighter course and, once they pass all courses, be ready for hire upon graduation. Any credits earned through this program can also be fully-transferred to the University of Akron to complete an Associate's Degree or higher.
