Congratulations to our first class of Juniors who have completed the first College Credit Plus course, Math 1530 College Algebra, offered fall semester at Garfield Heights High School. Last year, 23 Honors Algebra II students were given the opportunity through Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) to take a mathematics college placement assessment to test into College Algebra for college credit. Of those 23 students, the nine students pictured were determined to qualify for placement in the course. They each have received 4 college credit hours through Tri-C and 1 Honors High School credit, all without having left school grounds. They will continue their mathematics studies this spring semester, taking Math 1540, College Algebra Trigonometry, in which they will have the opportunity to earn another 3 college credits, as well as 1 Honors High School Credit upon completion.
