The Garfield Heights City Schools will host a Financial Forum on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Little Theater at Garfield Heights High School. The purpose of the forum is to publicly share the current state of district finances in advance of the twice-yearly state requirement to produce a 5-Year forecast, in addition to providing an environment where questions can be asked. The presentation will be delivered by Superintendent Terry Olszewski and Treasurer Allen Sluka. Part of the discussion will include an update on the State of Ohio’s reduction of nearly $1 Million from the bi-annual budget, which allocates funds to the District, and what the long-term impact of this means for Garfield Heights City Schools and other urban public school districts.
