Garfield Heights Students Participate in Intergenerational Learning Experiences with Jennings Residents

A handful of 3rd grade students from Elmwood Elementary School officially kicked-off the special partnership that has been created with Jennings Center for the "Kids Love Musicals" initiative, sponsored in part by Jennings Hall and the Ohio Arts Council. Led by Jen Huncharek, School Social Worker, approximately a half dozen students boarded a bus and made the short trip to Jennings Hall to meet with a room full of senior citizens and representatives from the Musical Theater Project, who planned to teach them how to act through the story of the Wizard of Oz. Over the next several weeks, Ms. Huncharek will bring back small groups of 4th and 5th graders to continue learning more about the same play with senior citizens. The Garfield Heights City Schools greatly values the relationship it has with Jennings Hall and will continue to promote activities that provide intergenerational learning opportunities.
