Families Celebrate Reading at Maple Leaf's Annual Literacy Night 2018
Maple Leaf hosted the annual Family Literacy Night on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The evening began at 5:30pm, and ended at 7:30pm. Parents and students took part in an author visit and book signing with guest author Lindsay Ward, a visit from the Garfield Heights Public Library, make and take crafts of bookmarks and free books, and a pasta dinner. Each family received a signed copy of one of Ms. Ward's books. In addition, baskets contributed by each grade level were raffled off, with proceeds going to our Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Pennies for Patients" campaign. Of those who participated in the raffle, six families won baskets and we raised $92 for the campaign. With over 200 people in attendance, our 2018 Family Literacy Night was a great success!
