Robert A. Dobies, Sr., a longtime member of the Board of Education, parent, alumnus and friend to many, has passed away, and the Garfield Heights City Schools family is mourning the loss of one of our community leaders. Robert, or Bob, as he was affectionately known to all, was a true advocate for the Garfield Heights City Schools, first being elected to the Board of Education in 2006. He served the District with diligence, sincerity and the utmost loyalty in representing what it meant to show Bulldog Pride. While arrangements are being finalized, the Garfield Heights City Schools asks that you respect the privacy of the Dobies Family, as they grieve during this time of loss. While our Bulldog hearts are heavy, our collective condolences are expressed to the entire family of the late Robert A. Dobies, Sr.
