Garfield Heights City Schools
Announces Parents-Only and Socially Distanced Kindergarten Registration to Take
Place Beginning Week of May 18th
The
Garfield Heights City Schools will host a by-appointment,
parents-only and socially distanced Kindergarten Registration
beginning next week, Monday, May 18th, for those families with
children who turn 5 years old before August 1st in the Gymnasium of
the Middle School at 12000 Maple Leaf Drive. The District requires you to
make an appointment by calling the main phone number of 216-475-8100.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and remain open until 12 noon, Monday, May
18th through Friday, May 29th. There
will be clear signage directing parents to the registration area. Parents will be asked to
take their temperatures prior to their appointments, and they will be asked to
sign in and to record their temperatures on a sheet at the registration area to
confirm your safe personal health and wellness.
If a parent has a fever of 100.0 degrees or higher (even if the parent
shows no symptoms), he or she will not be allowed to enter, and will be
required to reschedule.
Those
registering will follow signage to a clearly marked Gymnasium door. Once again, this will be a parents-only
registration in order to remain compliant with social distancing and other
statewide ordered safety precautions. Security guards will be present at the
entrance to the Middle School Gymnasium to ensure proper health and wellness
protocols. Please keep in mind that parents who bring children will not be
permitted to register. Garfield Heights City Schools is dedicated to staying
