Tree Planting in the Metroparks

With the partnership of the Cleveland Metroparks, West Creek Conservancy and the Cuyahoga County Soil and Water Conservation District, organization, a dozen Garfield Heights High School science students recently planted trees in Garfield Park to help promote an eco-friendly environment. Students were imparted with valuable tree planting protocols and were led in a discussion about how trees impact water quality in the region. In total, more than 50 trees were planted as part of this event and students used shovels and properly staked trees to withstand cold winter temperatures. The delegation of students was led by veteran High School teacher Mr. Joe Dunbrook. Thank you to the Metroparks, West Creek Conservancy and the representatives from the CCSWCD for their time, attention and instruction to the students in planting these trees.
