Any rising 9th and 10th graders who want to row with Shaker Heights Varsity Crew this year should register for Shaker Crew’s Novice Rowing Camp. Camp will run August 6-11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for both novice boys and girls. Bus transportation will be provided from the high school to the Crew’s boathouse in Rivergate Park and return.
First-year rowers will learn the basics of rowing and boat handling on the Cuyahoga River in Shaker’s eight-oared racing shells from Varsity coaches as well as starting conditioning for the fall season. There are a limited number of openings for novice rowers, so register early.
