The summer months remain quite active in the Garfield Heights City Schools, and such was the case at Maple Leaf Elementary School earlier this week, as it hosted the annual summertime Safety Town Graduation ceremony. Nearly 200 parents, grandparents and other family members participated in the event that was held in the gymnasium and featured the graduation of approximately 80 students from grades PreK through 3. Students began the course just after the completion of the 2017-2018 School Year, and attended every week until the last week of June. Students became highly engaged in topics such as stranger safety, traffic safety, rules and regulations, water safety and other forms of awareness training. The Garfield Heights City Schools partnered with the City of Garfield Heights to make this summer’s Safety Town program a success. Congratulations to all participants!
