Garfield Heights City Schools hosts State of the Schools and Finance
Forum
Before an audience of local elected leaders,
businesspersons, representatives from other nearby school districts and
administrators, the Garfield Heights City Schools hosted its annual State of
the Schools presentation and school finance forum. Superintendent Terry
Olszewski delivered a riveting summary of various important aspects of daily
life in the District through use of videos that have been posted online
throughout the year. Clips of academic shining stars such as Ethan Boufford and
Evan Jasterbowski were shown, along with video of the notable student groups
such as Music Express and the Jazz Band were played. Participants in the State
of the Schools were provided with a complementary lunch provided by the kitchen
staff at Garfield Heights High School. Immediately preceding Mr. Olszewski’s
presentation was District Treasurer Allen Sluka, who provided an overview of
District finances and the impact of the state budget on the Garfield Heights
City Schools. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s State of
the Schools and finance forum. Go Bulldogs!
