The Garfield Heights City Schools partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank yielded a tremendous showing of support for students in the District during the monthly drive that took place on October 9, 2019. Held on the second Wednesday of each month in the cafeteria at the Middle School, volunteers at the October gathering distributed 6,000 lbs. of food to more than 144 families and 222 students. Of that total, nearly 70% of all those served were students in the Garfield Heights City Schools.
Thank you to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for their tireless effort to ensure that needy families have fresh produce and healthy snacks and that the Garfield Heights City Schools can be a vehicle for helping to distribute and promote such an initiative.
