GHHS Senior Class Scholarships 2017
The Garfield Heights High School graduating class of 2017 was honored Wednesday evening, April 26th, at their Senior Recognition Night. Parents, family, staff and honored guests applauded the efforts and accomplishments of these outstanding young adults.

The Valedictorian Award was earned by Sierra Dalton. This year’s senior class earned college scholarships totalling over $3.3 million.

The local organizations in Garfield Heights once again showed their support of our hometown youth by sponsoring scholarships totalling $24,000. Recipients of these awards along with their generous sponsors were:

Achieving a 4.0 GPA is a tremendous accomplishment. The class of 2017 had 9 students meet this challenge. The following students received our “Four Star Student” award:

Garfield Heights High School was proud to have 24 students qualify for the Presidential Achievement Award. These students maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA and received high achievement in both reading and math in State or nationally normed tests. They also participated in extra-curricular activities and demonstrated outstanding citizenship and character. They are: Sierra Dalton, Justin Mills, Sandra Boado, Emily Kondash, Giselle Lopez, Nathan Marek, Rey Nahine, Rebecca Mosier, Sharnay Calloway, Brianna Exton, Kristin Bailey, Rachel Buckner, April Moore, Katherine Gumina, Giovanni Obbish, Jonathon Ukwella, Tamia Cook, Nathan Vekas, Rebecca Fox, Isaira Torres, Leah Pajarillaga, James Ray, Alexus Joyce, and Maniya Ford.

Once again, our Senior Recognition Night was a great success. It gave us the opportunity to recognize the tremendous accomplishments and talents of our graduating Seniors. We wish these and all of our graduating Seniors well. We hope the experience, education, training and preparation they received as students of Garfield Heights High School will allow them continued success with their post-graduation plans.
