To
the Class of 2020,This
year may have started off exactly as you planned, maybe it didn’t and your New
Year’s resolution was to be more dedicated to your classwork. However the year
started for you, I know this isn’t how you expected your year to go. At this
time I do not know how your year will end, but I wanted to try to alleviate
some fears. I have been in contact with Signature of Solon and we currently
have 2 alternative dates set up for prom: Friday, June 26th and Saturday, July
11th. Please put them in your calendars. I have been in contact with the Music
Hall and we are working on setting up alternate dates for graduation, as well.
Once I have more definitive dates I will be sure to share them with you. Please
know that we want to be there with you to share in the celebrations of your
senior year. I want to be able to shake your hand as you walk across the stage.
We are doing everything we can to make sure that you have those celebrations
for which you have worked so hard.
While
your senior year may not be exactly as you had hoped, please know that we care
about you and are here for you! Please make sure that you are keeping up with
your classwork through Google Classroom and/or VLA. Make sure that you are
completing your work at the necessary level so you will be in a position to
celebrate your graduation when we are able.
While
we may not be able to see each other every day, please know that your teachers,
guidance counselors, and administrators are just an email or phone call away.
The method of communication may be different, but if you need something please
reach out. We can’t see you so we don’t know how you are doing. We can’t read
your facial expressions or body language to know that you may be having a rough
day. While we need to physically distance ourselves right now, we can still
check in with each other. Please make sure you are checking your school email
as that is one of the best forms of communication we currently have.
Remember
we are a family, a Bulldog family! Not being in school is a challenge for us all,
but by working together we will get through this. Check-in on your family
members, at school and at home. Your phone call, email, text or message may be
exactly what they need during this time. Be kind to each other and yourself.
This is a difficult time and we need to have patience and compassion for each
other and ourselves.
Stay
Healthy,
