Free Fresh Produce Available to Families Second Wednesday of Each Month
at Middle School
As part of a newly begun partnership between the Garfield
Heights City Schools and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, fresh produce will be
available to families in our community each second Wednesday of the month
between 4 and 6 p.m. at the Middle School. The first opportunity
to pick up free fresh produce will be next Wednesday, October 10, 2018,
between 4 and 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Seasonal vegetables will be available,
along with other items that may be donated by the Greater Cleveland Food Bank,
depending on availability. Families are welcomed to stop by the Middle School,
located at 12000 Maple Leaf Drive, select the fresh produce and take it home
for their families’ use. This free fresh donation of produce is all part of the
Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Fresh Foods School Market initiative that is
successfully used in other communities. Volunteer staff and students will help
distribute the produce on the second Wednesdays of each month, so please be
certain to participate. With any questions about the program, please feel free
to contact the Middle School at 216-475-8105.
