Alumni Update - Colonel Shannon Juby (Prasek) - 1991

Colonel Juby commands the 9th Mission Support Group, Beale Air Force Base, California. She leads and supervises activities of over 1,500 military and civilian personnel, manages a $33.5 million operating budget, and protects and oversees resources in excess of $1.1 billion, including more than 550 facilities spanning 23,000 acres. The 9th Mission Support Group's six squadrons and Support Division provide facilities and infrastructure, communications and computers, security and law enforcement, recreation and services, human resources, contracting, logistics readiness, and the most active environmental management/remediation program in Air Combat Command to facilitate the Team Beale global mission through support of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing, 548th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group and Air Force Reserve command 940th air Refueling Wing.

Colonel Juby entered the Air Force in 1995 as a graduate of the University of Cincinnati ROTC program with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She possesses a broad operational background as an F-16 pilot with combat time logged in Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM. Before her current position, she was Chief of Staff for the Directorate for Policy, Strategy, Partnering, and Capabilities, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) where she directed the staff in the formulation and execution of basic military and political policy as well as planned for command activities involving relations with other U.S. Unified Commands, allied military and international military organizations, and subordinate commands. Colonel Juby is married to Mike Juby. They have three children: Matthew, Nicolette, and Donovan.
