GHCS Starts the 2019-2020 School Year!

School started for the 2019-2020 School Year on Thursday, August 22, 2019, as students of all ages and at all grade levels came back for the fall season. At the elementary schools, families and eager students were greeted by the friendly smiles of teachers and staff members. The Middle School family kicked off the year in fine fashion as well. Students at Garfield Heights High School began the day with a sense of Bulldog Pride and a willingness to start the year with renewed determination. Superintendent Chris Hanke made his rounds to the buildings to greet students and staff members alike. The Helping Hands Committee helped to brighten the day of all first graders in the District, as they generously donated supplies to students at Elmwood Elementary School, William Foster and Maple Leaf. Donated items included pens, pencils, crayons, glue sticks and more. A special donation ceremony took place at Elmwood to commemorate their generosity. Be sure to check the District’s social media pages for pictures, videos and more of the images that demonstrate the happiness and warmth on display during this first day of the 2019-2020 School Year.
