Teachers in the Garfield Heights School District were welcomed back to the 2019-2020 with an array of professional development activities! The day kicked off with a keynote by internationally known literacy expert, Dr. Anita Archer. Dr. Archer expressed the importance of explicitly teaching students what they need. Over the next couple of days, staff members were trained on a variety of building and district initiatives including MAPPING, ClassLink, OTES, and LETRS. All staff members also had the opportunity to attend a 90-minute breakout session with Dr. Archer. Additionally, new teachers were trained in the district's curricular software programs.
