What’s On GHTV – GHTV is the district’s educational information television channel. You can watch GHTV on Channel 18 on WOW and Channel 22 on Time Warner. Not only can you see weekly breakfast and lunch menus and important messages about current school events, but you can also learn more about our schools by viewing the following:
We believe that character education is vital to creating safe schools in a healthy learning environment. We encourage families to view:
- “Primary Focus” performing about character education, a program which is already underway in our district. As Primary Focus sings and dances, students are reminded of the six pillars of character, which are responsibility, fairness, caring, respect, trustworthiness and citizenship. The group shares on the video that life is full of choices. Students are reminded to make good choices by their motto: IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME! This can be viewed at 11 a.m., 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Also playing on GHTV:
- "March 19th’s Safety Forum" playing at 8 p.m. Superintendent Dr. Jeanne Sternad and other school officials, Fire Chief Thomas Nemetz and Police Chief Thomas Murphy share with parents and residents the many ways they work together to keep the children in Garfield Heights City Schools safe.
- Playing at noon, 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. is the “7th Annual Ice Cream Social” from April 25th at Garfield Heights High School. Open to the Garfield Heights community, this event was a collaborative effort between the Garfield Heights City Schools’ Center for Learning Support Services and Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt. Garfield Heights’ elected officials and community leaders served ice cream sundaes to the children, families, and residents in our learning community.
