More than 50 citizens, school representatives, and members from the community participated in the latest Strategic Planning session held at Garfield Heights Civic Center, to continue the recently launched process of refreshing the district’s mission, vision, and goals. At the meeting, participants began to consider strengths and weaknesses of the Garfield Heights City Schools, areas of concern, where opportunities may exist in the future, and what recommendations they might have for leadership. A discussion took place about the most important attributes students must retain on their educational journeys. Many lively aspects of this strategic planning conversation are likely to be topics of future meetings for this steering committee, which is anticipated to meet at least once every month.
