The Garfield Heights City Schools recently met with its partners at the Garfield Heights Police Department to discuss the exciting and practical steps that will commence, or continue, leading into the upcoming ’24-’25 school year. A team of GHPD officials took time to sit with Superintendent Dr. Richard D. Reynolds to collaborate about continued work for implementing Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate (A.L.I.C.E.) training for all our staff members. The GHCS will continue with the S.P.E.A.R. program that was implemented last year, whereby police visibility around the schools is significantly increased. Additional personnel is being discussed as well, to supplement the 6 security officers at the High School, along with the SRO, 6 security officers at the Middle School, and one each at the elementary schools. The Garfield Heights City Schools thanks Mayor Burke, and the Garfield Heights City Schools Police Department for its active engagement, willingness to collaborate, and desire to help our district keep students, staff, and visitors safe and secure at all times. GO BULLDOGS!
