District Acknowledges County Red Level Re-Designation, Announces Board Work Session Next Week

As you may have already learned, Cuyahoga County was recently re-designated ‘red level’ risk status by the Ohio Department of Health’s Public Health Assessment System, along with approximately 28 other counties in the state. The District acknowledges this new re-designation and will continue closely listening to the Governor and other statewide public health officials. In fact, later today, Friday, October 16th will be joining the officials from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to learn more information about this new designation. Additionally, please mark your calendars for next Wednesday, October 21st at 6 p.m., when the Board of Education will host a Work Session. The purpose of this Work Session will be to consider the feedback from the Board Meeting earlier this week, the new county ‘red level’ re-designation, and how this impacts our school district’s plans.  Superintendent Hanke will also be hosting a Town Hall Meeting via Zoom on October 26th for your participation and to ask questions. Login information for the Work Session on the 21st and the Town Hall meeting on the 26th will be posted on the District website and social media.
The Garfield Heights City Schools will continue to closely monitor all data, designations, and communicate with organized, and helpful information on the website, through Constant Contact email, on social media, through videos, on our Remind app, and more.  Please know this ever-changing and unprecedented environment will continue to earn our full attention. Thank you for your continued support.
