Hundreds of Participants Show School Pride at Stay-in-the-Game Fall Family Fun Night

Hundreds of families, students, staff members, community stakeholders…and even Chomps from the Cleveland Browns, participated in the Garfield Heights City Schools’ annual welcome back celebration, this year entitled the Stay-in-the-Game Fall Family Fun Night. Students and families had the opportunity to enjoy one another along with staff members outside of the traditional classroom setting, as everyone had the chance to partake in hotdogs and refreshments, play basketball and other activities and enter in the raffles to win some extraordinary prizes. Superintendent Chris Hanke addressed the participants with a spirited word of gratitude and encouraged students and families to "Stay In The Game", a partnership with the Cleveland Browns promoting regular attendance in school. In fact, the Cleveland Browns’ very own mascot, Chomps, visited to take pictures and say hello to students. Public safety officials were on-hand with various vehicles that drew the captivity of students as well. Those who participated in the Fall Family Fun Night also enjoyed free admission to the home varsity football game which immediately followed the event. Thank you to all of the individuals, including the Cleveland Browns, for their generous support and participation in this year’s Stay-in-the-Game Fall Family Fun Night.
