Taking into account the safety of all students and staff, the Garfield Heights City Schools will be mandating masks for all students and employees that work in school buildings (pre K - 12th grade) for at least the first five weeks of the school year.

The district takes into consideration the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health in coming to this decision. These government agencies and the American Academy of Pediatrics all recommend masking for all students to start the school year.
