2025 Honor Choir and Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Honor Choir to Showcase Local Talent This Weekend
April 3, 2025 – The weekend of April 5-6 promises an exciting celebration of choral excellence, with two major events featuring talented student musicians from across northeast Ohio. On Saturday, April 5, the 2025 Honor Choir will hold a one-day clinic, bringing together top choral students from around the region for a day of rehearsals under the guidance of renowned guest conductor Jason Max Ferdinand. The clinic will provide participants with a unique opportunity to develop their vocal skills and perform alongside some of the most talented young voices in Ohio.
Students who are nominated by their school choir directors based on their musical abilities will join the clinic for an intensive day of learning and rehearsing. These students will work closely with Ferdinand, a celebrated conductor known for his dynamic approach and deep passion for choral music. The clinic will culminate in a special performance for families and friends.
On the following day, Sunday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m., two standout members of Music Express, Isabella Castillo and Dennis Riley, will take the stage as part of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Honor Choir at Severance Hall. These talented students, alongside other young vocalists from about 20 area high schools, will perform under Ferdinand's direction after a full day of rehearsal on Saturday.
The concert promises to be a spectacular evening of choral music, showcasing the incredible talent of these student musicians. With Ferdinand conducting and Daniel Singer leading the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus, the performance will include an array of choral pieces that will undoubtedly leave the audience in awe.
