GHHS Students of Service Conduct Blood Drive with Red Cross
Congratulations to the Students of Service organization at Garfield Heights High School, who took the community-based initiative to help conduct a blood drive in the Auxiliary Gymnasium on Friday, January 10th in partnership with the American Red Cross. Open for blood donations from students, staff, and the community, the devoted high schoolers from the Students of Service organization played a very important role in checking in donors with computer pads, escorting them to various blood pressure and donor stations, and assisting the professional technicians with accommodating their needs. After donating blood, the S.O.S. members helped provide bottled water or a snack for those involved. The American Red Cross incentivizes the Garfield Heights High School organization for the total amount of blood collected during the drive, which has translated in the past to scholarships for students. Congratulations to S.O.S. adviser Austin Stamatis, and the students who comprise the Students of Service organization on their blood drive!
