On behalf of the Board of Education and everyone in the Garfield Heights City Schools, please join the district in welcoming Philip Oko as our new and incoming Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Oko joins the Garfield Heights City Schools after an extensive background in school and business finance operations, most recently serving as the Finance Manager of Breakthrough Schools. Mr. Oko has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Cleveland State University. In looking forward to serving the Garfield Heights City Schools, Mr. Oko shares some family heritage with our community as his grandmother is a GHHS graduate. In addition, he has served in various public and private finance roles along with members of his family throughout school districts in Ohio and the country. He replaces Mr. Allen D. Sluka, who recently retired from this position. Please join the Garfield Heights City Schools in formally welcoming Mr. Philip Oko to our district as the new and incoming Treasurer/CFO.
