National Honor Society Students, Dr. Reynolds Visit Senior Citizens
Superintendent Dr. Richard Reynolds accompanied students from the High School’s National Honor Society in visiting the Garfield Heights Civic Center on Thursday, November 3rd, to introduce themselves to one another in a fun, cordial, and informative environment. Dr. Reynolds began the time together with a brief introduction of himself and shared his sentiment that all must work together to advance the community and school district in Garfield Heights. From there, NHS advisor Joni Wanderstock delightfully shared with approximately 35 senior citizens a brief biography and turned the floor over to approximately 12 students who one by one introduced themselves. Mayor Matt Burke was in attendance to affirm the sentiment of partnership and collaboration. In an impromptu manner, several NHS students who are also members of the High School Music Express team performed a rendition of Everybody Wants to Rule the World, a song by the group Tears for Fears, in a vocal treat for the senior citizens. At the very end, a group picture was taken amongst Dr. Reynolds, Mayor Burke, senior citizens, and our students. In all, the recent visitation by our students and Dr. Reynolds to the Civic Center was a tremendous success, and the GHCS looks forward to more collaborations in the future. Go Bulldogs!
