Dr. Richard D. Reynolds to Become New Superintendent of Garfield Heights City schools
At a Special Meeting of the Board of Education on Friday, May 27th, Dr. Richard D. Reynolds was unanimously appointed as the new Superintendent of the Garfield Heights City Schools. Dr. Reynolds joins the district most recently having served as Director of Operations for the Warrensville Heights City Schools and maintaining a long career in public education. 
“The Board of Education would like to formally welcome Dr. Reynolds to the Garfield Heights City Schools,” said Board President Nichelle Daniels. “We are excited for the dynamic leadership qualities of Dr. Reynolds to lead us into a new generation of greatness in our district.” 
The hiring of Dr. Reynolds comes as the result of a comprehensive interviewing process that included community input, the collaboration with Finding Leaders professional and executive search firm for public educators, and the selection from among highly qualified candidates. Dr. Reynolds brings more than two decades of experience in public education to the Garfield Heights City Schools, where he has served as a classroom teacher and administrator at the Middle School level, High School principal, Director of Student Wellness and Innovative Programs, and most recently, Director of Operations. 
Dr. Reynolds officially begins his duties as Superintendent of the Garfield Heights City Schools on August 1st and will use the summer months to become acclimated with the environment and responsibilities. Congratulations Dr. Reynolds, and welcome to the Garfield Heights City Schools.
