Did you know October is National Farm to School Month? Our food service department tries to celebrate local whenever possible, by using locally grown produce and even cookies & breakfast bars made with local flour!
This year, we're ramping up our efforts! Garfield Heights City Schools was selected as a recipient of the Feed Our Future Local Menu Takeover grant. Not only will we be featuring local food items each week, but we'll also be having a T-shirt giveaway!
Here's how it works:
- Every week we'll let you know what the featured food item is (it'll also be marked in your food bag with a "Local Menu Takeover" Sticker.
- Take a picture of your student enjoying the food and send it in.
- If you send in a picture each week, you'll be entered in the drawing to win a FREE T-Shirt!
Stay tuned for our FIRST local menu item NEXT WEEK. Be sure to complete the meals order form if you haven't already and share this great news with a GHCS District family!
