November is National Family Literacy Month!
November is National Family Literacy Month!
National Family Literacy Month began in 1994 when the National Center for Families Learning worked with the U.S. Congress to officially designate November 1st as National Family Literacy Day! This is a day devoted to spreading the message that families succeed when they learn TOGETHER. There is a strong correlation between parents’/caregivers’ educational attainment and children’s educational outcomes.
There are many ways to celebrate this month! We invite you to join us in taking part in NCFL’s 30 Days of Families Learning Together, a guide that provides a month’s worth of family literacy activities and practices designed to inspire family memories rooted in imagination, playing, and learning together.
