3rd Grade OST Test

Each school year, our third grade students are required to take the fall English language arts (ELA) Ohio State Test (OST). These tests are required by federal and state law and, at this point in time, are still required for the 2020-2021 school year.  Due to technology and test security requirements, there is no option to remotely administer state tests.  All testing must be completed in person with a test administrator who is an employee of the district with a license, certificate or permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education.

Families should have received notification about the 3rd grade OST in the mail and from your child's teacher.  Testing administration will take place at one of the designated elementary buildings on November 4th and 5th.

Measures are in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. Students and staff are expected to wear a mask to school. Your child will test with half the class in a socially distanced classroom. Classrooms will be sanitized. Upon entering the building, your child’s temperature will be taken.

On your child’s scheduled day, students must bring the following:

  • Charged district Chromebook, charging cord, and headphones.

  • Water bottle labeled with their name.

These are necessary to complete the assessment and will return home after testing is completed. Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast.

If you have any questions about the required state test, feel free to contact your child's classroom teacher or the building administrators.
