Helping Hands Committee Demonstrates Love, Compassion and Generosity with GHCS

One of the most meaningful partnerships currently established in the District is the Garfield Heights City Schools’ relationship with the Helping Hands Committee from Marymount Hospital. Throughout the years, they have generously donated school supplies and bookbags to the District’s youngest students. Most recently, the Helping Hands Committee took the lead on organizing items of personal care in order for each building to have a Hygiene Closet. Yet, perhaps the most gracious of all contributions our devoted friends from Marymount Hospitals could organize, is their effort to supply an arrangement of food baskets to families most in need during the holiday season. Recently, more than a dozen members of the Helping Hands Committee compassionately assembled food baskets at Marymount Hospital for delivery before the Holidays. An array of food was donated and organized. Baskets included turkeys, Stove Top stuffing, canned vegetables, bread, fruit, chicken broth, cookies for dessert and more. Baskets were delivered to families of Garfield Heights students who needed a little extra help this year during the week of December 9, 2019. On behalf of everyone in our school district, our sincerest gratitude is extended to Helping Hands Committee of the Garfield Heights City Schools for their ongoing and abundant kindness, love and support. Such generosity is tremendously valued.
