High School Marching Band Entertains Community Senior Citizens

The spirit and excitement about everything that comprises Bulldog Pride was on full display earlier this
week, as members of our treasured senior citizens community visited the Center for Performing Arts at
the High School for a performance by our Marching Band, Flag Line and Dance Line. Nearly 60 student
performers showcased their musical and performing arts talents and the handful of senior citizens
tapped their feet to the musical tunes. The Marching Band, filled with talented students on the clarinet,
saxophone, tubas, quad drums, bass drums, trumpets, trombones and flutes, performed a medley of
music by The Jackson Five, Fleetword Mac and other contemporary artists. The Flag Line proudly
marching into the Center for Performing Arts and displayed their colorful banners. The Dance Line kept
the groove with their creative dancing and movements. After the performance, Mr. Pope’s talented
students had the chance to say hello to our senior citizens in the lobby. Superintendent Chris Hanke and
Principal Tammy Hager greeted our senior citizen guests and thanked them for visiting our schools. Best
of all, the seniors were transported to and from the C.P.A. by school district bus, rides which some of
our beloved golden agers have not taken in more than 50 years. In all, the Garfield Heights City Schools
values the collaboration and connection with our senior citizens. Thank you to all who participated.
