GHHS Concert Band Earns High Ratings at OMEA Event
The Garfield Heights High School Concert Band recently showcased their hard work and dedication at the OMEA District 7 Large Group Adjudicated Event, held at Perry High School.
The band performed three prepared pieces and completed a live sight-reading performance, demonstrating both musical excellence and strong technical skill. Their hard work paid off, earning an overall Excellent (II) rating, including a Superior rating from a floor judge and a Superior rating from the sight-reading judge.
Notably, the sight-reading judge shared that the band’s performance in the sight-reading room was the best he had heard over the past two weekends of adjudicated events—a remarkable accomplishment.
This achievement reflects the commitment, preparation, and passion of our student musicians and their director. We are incredibly proud of the GHHS Concert Band and grateful to all who came out to support them.
