Garfield Heights City Schools

Garfield Heights High School’s very own Skylar Stewart was recently nominated for the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s Student Spotlight. She is currently enrolled in CVCC’s Dental Assisting program under the instruction of Lisa Theodore. When the opportunity to attend CVCC arose, Skylar knew she wanted to get a head start on her future while taking advantage of new opportunities. Inspired by her mom, a former dental assistant, Skylar was curious to explore the field for herself—and CVCC provided the perfect place to do just that. Over the past several months, Skylar has gained valuable hands-on experience and discovered a clear passion for dentistry. She is now confident in her goal of becoming a dentist, crediting CVCC with helping solidify her career path. After high school, Skylar plans to attend Tri-C to complete her prerequisites before enrolling in the Dental Hygienist program. She then hopes to continue her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
