More than 300 Bulldog Community Members in Garfield Heights filled the High School on Thursday, August 27th in support of our Garfield Heights student athletes at the district’s first-ever Bulldogs Athletics and Community Rally. Sonny Johnson, the district’s energizing athletic director, was master of ceremonies, thanking all in attendance and first introducing Mr. Dawson’s marching band, flags, and cheerleaders. After dinner, fall sports coaches all talked, showed support of students and parents, and excited the crowd. Superintendent Samuel J. Vawters expressed his enthusiasm for the start of the year, and gratitude for the outstanding attendance, and Mayor Matt Burke described the commitment shown by all those participating, and how that applies to life. Our Proud Bulldogs will make this rally an event to look forward to each and every year, and proved that we as a community are Better Together!
